Samsung PN51D7000 3D 600hz Plasma HDTV Review

This Samsung PN51D7000 3D Plasma HDTV is in a word, AWESOME! Samsung Plasmas for 2011 are hard to beat, especially with the 600hz speed/refresh rate. Talk about action being seen with flawless precision. Plasma tv's have always been known to have better picture quality than most. Now Samsung has upped the bar with a thin, large 51 inch, 3D Plasma HDTV with Samsung Apps and wi-fi capabilities. The Samsung PN51D7000 is very thin for a plasma, which makes this even more remarkable. There's quite a bit to be excited about with this Samsung Plasma. The outer edge of the tv has a brushed silver lining. The swivel base matches the edge which is also brushed silver. The Plasma series does come in a smaller and large size. Let's get started with the Samsung PN51D7000 review.

Picture quality is great as usual. Just what you'd expect from a Samsung HDTV. 15 million to 1 contract ratio does help create a great picture. Of course this HDTV is 1080p. The ambient lighting in the room will not interfere with the quality of the picture. The viewing angles are nearly as nice from any seat up to 180 degrees. The Samsung PN51D7000 allows you to view in 2D or 3D. The beauty of the 2011 Samsung 3D Plasma models is the use of blue tooth instead of IR glasses. The glasses do not come with the tv, but the price is right, which are now available around $50 each. If you order from Amazon and receive free shipping, then order the glasses, since you save on shipping. The 3D viewing is very nice, just what you'd expect from Samsung HDTV's.

Samsung Apps brings this Plasma HDTV to a whole nother level. You can connect the Samsung PN51D7000 directly to the internet via your ethernet cord or thru Wi-fi. Once connected to the internet, you can utilize the Smart Hub, where the Samsung Apps can be found. Even though you are in the Smart Hub area, you can still see the channel you are on for viewing pleasure. Within the Smart Hub you can connect to Twitter, Facebook, Netflix, Pandora, Hulu Plus(which is $8/month vs the free version online), ESPN 3D and more. You must have a Smart Hub ID and password to log in to use the Apps. The cumbersome thing is moving the cursor on the screen to type in text. There isn't a QWERTY keyboard on the remote. At least you only have to enter your username/password once for each service. Overall the Smart Hub and the wi-fi connections make this an awesome addition to this plasma hdtv.

Speaking of 3D, there are four HDMI inputs. Hook up your 3D Blu-ray player or blu-ray player and the picture is off the charts. This is a Smart TV, so what else can you use to view?Connect a USB flash drive to enjoy some video, music, or pictures.

Sound: Get crisp, clear sound with 10 watts through two speakers and advanced SRS technology. Picture and sound quality has been much improved with the slim designs over the last year. Samsung delivers once again on one of the problem areas.

Of course Plasma TV's have been known to use a lot of energy, but this Samsung Plasma HDTV is energy star compliant. Heat coming off your screen has been greatly reduced. This TV exceeds the EPA guidelines.
